Stage 1 General Mathematics B

Prerequisites

Have successfully completed Stage 1 General Mathematics A with a grade of a C or better.

Recommendations:

Have good time management skills and possess a general love for learning Mathematics and are responsible learners. 

In addition, students have good attendances in lessons (IOLs)

What Will You Learn?

The following topics will be covered in this course:

  • Applications of Trigonometry
  • Matrices and network
  • Linear and exponential functions and their graphs

Who Is This Course For?

This course is for students who:

  • enjoy studying Mathematics and wish to attain an ATAR score through  Mathematics.
  • want to extend their mathematical skills in ways that apply to practical problem-solving in everyday and workplace contexts.

What Do You Need? 

  • Understand mathematical concepts and relationships
  • Select and apply mathematical techniques and algorithms to analyse and solve problems, including forming and testing predictions
  • Interpret results, draw conclusions, and consider the reasonableness of solutions in context
  • Make discerning use of electronic technology
  • Access to printing and scanning facilities

Target Audience:

Stage 1 students who have successfully completed Stage 1 General Mathematics A in Semester 1 with a C grade or better.

After the completion of Stage 1 General Mathematics B, students can opt to continue on to Stage 2 General Mathematics OR take up Stage 2 Essential Mathematics the following year.
