Target audience: Educational staff working mainly with young children in schools around early literacy development.

The intention of this unit is to introduce staff to how they can use their FELA NT assessment data in early literacy programs.  It introduces the LANE Phonological Awareness Kit to teach phonological awareness skills to early literacy learners.

By the end of this unit you will:

  • know how to interpret FELA NT data to inform teaching and learning
  • analyse your own data and set goals/areas to target with your class
  • become familiar with the progression steps required to develop phonological and phonemic awareness
  •  use identified goals to target planning for an individual, group or your class
