What will you learn?

In the Stage 2 Biology course, you will learn about living things: how they grow, function, and interact. You will learn about life’s diversity, cell processes, and ecosystems, investigating everything from tiny cells to large environments.

Who is this course for?

This course is for students who want to:

  • Apply their knowledge to real-world issues, think critically, and solve problems.
  • Understand the diversity, structure, and function of life and ecosystems, investigate biological systems and explore how they interact and evolve.
  • Pursue careers in fields like medicine, nursing, veterinary science, agriculture, sustainability, and conservation.
  • You will need
    • Curiosity and interest in the natural world
    • Recommend successful completion of two semesters of Stage 1 Biology
    • High level of literacy, numeracy and digital literacy skills

What resources do you need?

  • NTSDE will provide students with a code to access an ebook textbook.   If students would like a physical hardcopy of their textbook this may be purchased by their homeschool or themselves.
  • NTSDE will send out non-returnable Practical Investigation Kit’s at the end of Term 1 Week 3 and Term 3, Week 3.
  • Textbook being used in this course and contents of the kit are listed in Subject Information Materials page.
