What Will You Learn?

In this course, you will learn about the elements of music and learn how to analyse music both written and aurally. You will complete a musical composition using standard musical notation, learn how to write stylistic harmonies, as well as complete a performance on your chosen instrument(s).

Who Is This Course For?

This course is for students who want to:

  • Develop deeper musical knowledge and understanding.
  • Create music, including compositions and performance work.
  • Appreciate different musical styles including music theatre, classical and jazz.

What Do You Need?

  • Must have minimum of 3 years instrumental experience.
  • Have an understanding of basic musical knowledge. You can already read music fluently and have an understanding of keys, scales and chords.
  • Musescore - free music notation application
