What Will You Learn?

In this course you will explore a range of mathematical concepts with a focus on calculus and statistics. Key topics include functions and their graphs, derivatives, integrals, statistical distributions, and the application of these concepts in solving real-world problems. students will develop a deep understanding of the physical world through a sound knowledge of relationships involving rates of change.

  • Differential Calculus
  • Applications of Differential Calculus
  • Integral Calculus
  • Continuous Random Variables and the Normal Distribution
  • Discrete Random Variables
  • Confidence Intervals

  • A strong understanding of Stage 1 Mathematical Methods or a similar mathematics course is recommended. Access to graphic calculator and statistical software, such as Excel or GeoGebra, will be beneficial for completing tasks in this course.
  • A SACE-approved graphics calculator.
