What Will You Learn?
In this course you will investigate how nations, governments, movements and individuals have shaped the modern world. You will examine historical events, analyse sources, explore contesting interpretations, and develop evidence-based historical arguments about nationalism, revolution, conflict, power and change.
Who Is This Course For?
This course is for students who want to:
- understand why historical events happened and why they still matter today
- investigate nationalism, revolution, conflict and political change
- analyse primary and secondary historical sources
- evaluate different perspectives and interpretations of the past
- develop strong research, analytical and writing skills
What Do You Need?
- access to Moodle and course materials each week
- a device for viewing media, analysing sources and submitting work
- basic note-taking and organisation skills
- a willingness to question evidence, perspectives and interpretations
Target Audience: Stage 1 students interested in history, politics, society, conflict, identity and understanding how the past continues to influence the present.
